the last few years has seen the introduction of many duty free store only scotch and cognac products. The $1000 Remy Diamant, the Remy 1988 vintage cognac, the series from Highland park (Erik, 1998, 1994, 1990, etc), The Macallan's (fine oak, makers select, etc)...... and many others. I end up being suckered and buying the stuff as I know I won't find it in the stores but it prevents me from buying the things I came into the aiport for in the first place.

Now I've gotten to the point that I'll only buy those from the airport and not any of the regular stuff any more.

The last duty-free whisky I've bought was the Glenmorangie "Cellar 13" single malt purchased on a trip to the UK in '04; still have half the bottle left (it tasted better in Edinburgh than it does now.... go figure).

Now awaiting delivery of samples of single malt/single cask.... getting antsy.... supplies of the gifted 11- and 24-year-olds are reaching critical levels....
