Another tout from my buddy in San Diego and another home run. This Grand Vin de Bordeaux is medium brite ruby . No isea about the mixture but has some aromas reminiscent of Merlot with a touch of cassis and herbs from cab and floral notes from cab franc. A solid wine with solid tannin underpinnings that needs another 3-6 to soften. Drinks like a 4th or 5th growth. 90/91. 17.99 but was under 15 on futures. Another of the 11-14% alc. WW

I just saw this in my local grocery store today and did some research on it. One part of WS said it scored "85-88,", but Suckling gave it a 90. Of course, they charge a bit more at my local store (20-something), but I don't consider that exorbitant for a 90-rated Bordeaux...

Also from 2000, they have Chateau de Lamarque Haut-Medoc, Les Fiefs de Lagrange Saint-Julien, and Chateau Potensac Medoc. I believe the Potensac is a bit higher (closer to $30), but I'm sure I'll shell it out since 3 of those are Grands Crus.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, thanks WW, I've been perusing earlier threads and have found them most useful. The CLTC blend is 80% merlot/20% Cabernet Blanc according to the information I have...Interesting!

Thanks for the welcome, hope to learn much and contribute what pittance as I may.

Had this for lunch yesterday. Lovely nose and still brite ruby.Nice persistant aromatics and a sold 4 lapper finish. Close to TTOIG so I've gauged this sucker pretty close as I am down to 2 bottles. This was definitely a Bordeaux VOTC.(IMHO) WW
