I am looking for a 24" undercounter cooler unit for the kitchen. The GE seems to have a good balance of styling and price. Anyone have one. Anyone have anything else they really like? Thanks for the help.

I have no experience with that one. Have had a 34-btl HEC unit for 2 1/2 years or so, purchased at Sam's Club for $299....black case with smoked glass door. Works fine. Later supplemented with a EuroCave 260 and now a temp-controlled cellar. Whatever you get, you'll quickly outgrow it.

We have a Viking that we are very pleased with. It holds around fifty bottles or so. I go to my main cellar, pull all of the ready to drink wines, and stock them in the kitchen unit -- really handy. U-line makes a decent one.

Thanks Bucko. In looking at these at the appliance store it appears that the Viking and the GE are the identical guts, with just soem cosmetic changes...and $500 less for the GE.

Probably so. I think there are only two or three manufacturers and everyone just puts their name on them. Mine was free..... We did a total Viking kitchen so we got to select from a free wine cellar or under the counter fridge.
