I have recently acquired a bottle of 1983 field stone petite sirah. I would assume that it needs to be consumed soon if not a while ago. does anyone have any info on this particular vintage? or any thoughts if it could hold.

Field Stone makes a decent Petite Sirah, however 1983 wasn't a particularly good year. Not only that, 22 years is a really long time to keep that bottle, even in a good cellar. No promises, but go ahead and give it a try, but have a bottle you know will be good ready, just in case.
