Congratulations, Foodie. This article was cited on WLDG Wine Forum. Thomas is mentioned near the bottom of the article: http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs054/1103584053586/archive/1105197695078.html

Where have youse been AA? Even the one-eyed porter at the local bordello knows that the mity Thomasso is a beacon in the black-hole of FL wines. Hims' been promoting the stuff for so long his statue has been erected in Trafalger Square. WW

Way to go, Thomas!! Just how much did you have to consume to qualify for this honor?

It was funny. I was at the dinner. Didn't know about the award, and when Jim Trezise announced what it took to win such an award, I said to the people at my table, "If he knew how much FL wine I drink, he'd give me the award."

Next thing I knew, he called out my name!

Engineer, it's a plaque. Try as I might, no way to get any wine into or out of it...

Mighty nice, Thomas, and richly deserved. I've learned more from your writings than from any other individual in the wine bidness.

Congrats on the award, but I'm more concerned about the radiation. I hope that was as big a success. Still praying.

IK,

The last radiation is tomorrow. With prostate cancer, success is measured by the low PSA blood count and the longer it stays low. In other words, success is relative to longevity. One simply gets no certificate of success, only a certificate of achievement, which I'm told I will receive tomorrow--and really don't want, but I'll be gracious.

Otherwise, I don't feel any worse for the wear of the past nine weeks, except a little more daily fatigue that keeps me from doing many things.
