Eileen and I went to my best friend's house last night, Jeff (who is an avid lurker on this board but I can't get him to post or introduce himself), and took along a large pot of Coq au Vin that I had prepared. This wine, and others, came along. This is a very nice new world, fruit forward pinot showing no greeness, as many SA wines do. Flavors of cherry and raspberry, spice, underbrush and smoke. Nicely balanced, oily in the mouth and a persistant finish. Paired well with the Coq au Vin which was one of the best I've made, if I say so my own self. Nice evening with good friends. $15
