I have recently come into possession of a 9-liter bottle of Beringer 1978 Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. I know nothing about this wine or its value. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi baeringer and welcome to the board. This wine was the 2nd bottling of Beringers fine PRs'. The fruit was from the Lemmon Ranch with some fruit coming from the Chabot property. If this wine has had proper stoirage it should still be very drinkable. Not ever being a fan of any large formats over magnum sizes I have no personal experience with 5-7-or9 litre bottlings. For pricing I suggest you go tto wine-searcher.com and see if you can get some kind of handle on this. Good luck. WW
