For us, I'm sort of leaning toward the 97 Egly-Ouriet for the first bottle, or maybe the 90 P-J Fleur. Then it's up in the air.

I will be drinking a ten-year Tawny Port--probably the Graham's (it's been Cockburn's the last two New Years).

If we do, and it's doubtful right now, it will be the second bottle from Glenora.

Our two fave cheap thrills: Laurent-Perrier Brut LP and Gruet Blanc de Noirs.

Earlier that same day, we're having a jug of Giacosa Barolo with dinner.

Sunday morning, I'm going to the Seahawks' game with a hangover.

We're abstaining Fri nite but I'm making hand-dipped fresh strawberries with a bottle of 1990 Billicart-Salmon Rose bubbly for breakfast. After that, who knows? WW

SB, Laurent-Perrier, of course! One of my favorites I should have thought of. It's not too late to pick up a bottle at the shop for the hot tub after the ball drops.

WW, You're off the sabbatical already?

cg, That Glenora has been proven to be the Breakfast of Champions. Maybe you should save it, and some of the aspirin, for breakfast - just ask the Weener how it goes with an onion omelette w/ extra onions.

Since I'm not a fan of wine bubbles I feel the bottle of Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chard that I found at the local shop will not make it past January first as origionally planned.

With dinner (Italian fare) we're having an '01 Zenato Ripassa Valpolicella at a friend's house. Evening drinking back at home will involve a Mailly Grand Cru Brut. Gruet for breakfast on NY Day.

Made the choices. We're going with the Egly, as well as a 97 Bisol Riserva Brut. Then, tomorrow we'll do the Breakfast of Champions.

So much for scheduling. So far, we've had the Bisol, the Glenora and what's left of an 02 Indian Springs Chard (been using it in the fondues). The Egly is next.

Actually, with the tragic situation over in Asia, our new years celebration was very calm. It as also one of our friend's birthday but despite a birthday and a new years, we all held a moment of silence out of respect for the situation.
