Have decided on the wines (all 94s) to be sent to Glenora with the exception of one. Make your choice between the B.V. GDL Pvt. Reserve and the Mondavi Reserve. Foodies vote breaks any ties.WW

That's a tough choice. But I have tried one Mondavi C.S. Reserve (I think the '97) so will vote for the Beaulieu Vineyards which I have not tried. (At one time the regular BV Chardonnay was my favorite Cal Chardonnay--many years ago).

I'm going to vote for the BV, also, because I've had it less frequently than the Mondavi. We're only going to be there for two days, WW. How much do you plan on bringing? It sounds like you're moving cases out this way.

For myself, I was planning on bringing a vertical of the Lewelling Napa Valley and Wight Vineyard Cabs (just to provide a counterpoint to all the SW's).

I was going to bring the 1997 through 2000 regular and Wight. I could also bring the 95 and 96, but I figure 6 bottles would be enough.

No need to linger over this one ...BV Pvt Reserve it be. This is the rest of the line-up all 94s....Robert Craig Affinity, Liparita Sp Mtn Estate, Markham Napa, Etude, Stags Leap SLV, Caymus Special Selection,Gallo Frei, & Hess Collection. The box is filled out with a bottle of 77 Sandeman Vintage port and a 97 Dehlinger Syrah Estate and a 97 Dehlinger Pinot Estate. These are fairly representative of the wide spectrum the 94 Napas' produced. Thot Georgie mite enjoy an older vintage port and the Dehlingers are to honor Herr Dockitors' aversion to the dreaded wood barrel. . Good grief, what a line-up to miss. Maybe I can buy off the daughter's intended and cancel their wedding..... or maybe introduce him to the local Army recruiter.... or maybe the French Foreign Legion.....

Quite an impressive lineup, WW.

I'll be bringing the following:

1997 Napa and Wight
1998 Napa and Wight
1999 Napa
2000 Napa

BTW, have you met the Wights? Wonderful folks.

nice list WW. you are far too generous. only wish i had that type of quality and quanitity to contribute. however, i will be bringing a few big reds that i can guarantee folks will enjoy (albeit far too early). what are we going to do about decanters? everything i'm bringing needs to be decanted, as do all of your 94s i'd guess.

my to-bring list:

1999 Brancaia Il Blu Rosso Di Toscana
2001 Henry's Drive Reserve Cab
2001 Marquis-Philips S2 Cab

and one wine i want folks to taste blind from the decanter.

Hey Newsy, I'm sure Glenora has some decanters. Iffn' not we can go to the local dairy and buy some milk bottles. (Never sweat the little stuff.) ww
