Band-Aids????

I was drinking a wine with friends recently -- the wine had an overwhelming taste just like a box of band-aids smells. I have seen subtle cases of this in a wine, but this
was the predominant taste. I have read in the past that this is due to brett, but this just does not taste like brett to me. Can anyone educate me here?

Brett is the one that I believe the Band-Aid falls into. Of course, there could be more than one thing going on in the particular wine you had.
