this stupid virus. Been housebound for derned near a week now and after trying to find the difference between a zinfandel and water unsuccessfully I've hung it up till this passes. Got slightly better yesterday and hopefully I shake it by the week-end. Hate these unscheduled sabbaticals.WW

Hang in there, Verne. Look on the bright side - you can skip your next scheduled sabbatical.

i had this weird cold/bronchitis earlier in the winter, and for two weeks AFTER i was all better, my tongue reacted to anything tannic or acidic as if it was sandpaper.
all wine tasted horrible, not just blank. i could smell perfectly fine. which was a tease!
anyone had this happen? really weird.

I came down with a cold too about Tuesday of last week. Didn't stop me from attending the Triangle Wine Experience in Raleigh area. I think (fingers crossed) I'm on the mend now.

VVH,

You sure you weren't bitten by something like a spider??? Had a friend bitten by a brown recluse and all he could taste for the next two weeks was vinegar.

Hell, Verne, you don't need taste buds to drink that cactus juice you have stashed all over the house ... bottoms up.
