You're right; tough to say "But we're not ready yet!" under those circumstances. Congrats.

At least in the chicken houses we had entertainment -- rat races. We even held a funeral for one of the rats who died..... hey, it gets boring in the middle of the friggin' desert.

I'm sure it does. Confounded rats used to have motorcycle races in the middle of the night, up under the PSP that formed the roof of my foxhole (with sandbags on top), out behind the tent. They made so much racket when I was in there one night, I locked & loaded my .45 on them, then realized, "Hey, Lt, that's STEEL planking you're about to shoot at, from a range of three feet." Not a real healthy thing to do, so I let 'em finish their race.

LTs are allowed to shoot themselves as part of the learning curve, no?

That's true, Buckminster, but poppin' off one round would have probably produced multiple holes in ze bod. You know how you can sometimes react TOO quickly when half asleep? That was one of 'em. That .45 wasn't good for much, but would have probably done a pretty good job on ME.

How do LT's survive, anyway? Doesn't seem to be in the natural order of things....

Glad you're in ,Drew. Seems like its been a trudge for you. Hope all is done soon for you, too, Bucko. I'll be joining the ranks of the movers within the next couple of months (Ugh!!!). Started collecting boxes.....

just a couple of cities over, Bucko. In Rhode Island, that only means a trip of about 10-15 minutes, ha ha. I'm moving back to the city I grew up in, East Providence. Long term relationship (19 years) is ending, so I'm moving back to be close to my family.

yes, it is, but hubby was worth it to me. I'm sure many of you have a longer history with your significant others. Thanks, Bucko. Hope your hotel time passes pleasantly and comes to a happy end soon !: )
