First Grandchild and it's been a rough go. She underwent 3 hours of surgery today to correct a blocked (undeveloped) esophagus and will be in the Hospital for another 3+ weeks. She's had a rough start with only one kidney, and the esophagus problem, but the Doctors at University Medical Center in Baltimore still say."No problemo!" Happy, concerned and praying.

Congrats Drew! In keeping with the name, I pray that God will bless the baby with his grace in the coming days & months so that she enjoys a healthy life despite the rough start. cp

Congrats! Everything sounds fixable, I'll throw in a good word when I have my nightly chit-chat with The Boss. Best wishes to both Grace and Mama.

And remember, it's OK to lay down a case of wine to wait 21 years for a girl child, not just boys. Gives you something to focus on, too. Port? What kind, what year? Cal-Cabs? Vouvray? Sauternes? What won't break the bank, and yet last 21 years? And here's to Gramps getting to help Grace drink it someday!

Carl

Monday's child is fair of face......... as is everyone's grandchild. My wife and I will include your Granddaughter, Grace, in our prayers.

Congratulations, Drew! Ever since we were blessed with our Grandson and Granddaughter, I've told my wife how much of a blessing they are. Especially since we can always give them back to their parents. My wife pooh-pooos at me everytime I say that!

Best to your and yours.............

My mother was born with only one functioning kidney and we just celebrated her 88th birthday last weekend! Hope Grace is similarly blessed.

Drew,
Did you get to see Cal Ripken Jr's farewell appearance in person? I ended up with tickets for the final weekend and had to return them to the box office because we were celebrating my mother's 88th birthday in Lincoln, Nebraska that weekend. I sent the tickets certified mail as I was instructed to do but haven't received a refund yet. It better come soon.
Finally caught on ESPN Sportscenter the farewell festivities and interview with Cal.
Must have been an emotional event. Announcer said fans were weeping in the stands.

I dint see the final Cal game, but I got to see him when Bal'more played Philly.

What a performance! The ole goat is going out strong, that is fore sure.

Bye the bye, Bal'more won that game. I also found out that my friend and I were a part of history. That particular game had filled the greatest number of seats in the history of Camden Yards........

Neat!

Well we'll just have to get a case of Norton and lay it away for a future birthday celebration!

Good news, Drew, is always just that, Good News. Lord knows we need plenty of it these days.

God bless you, your children, and your granddaughter.
