No slap to Bucko for his always great ratings but what's with the big prices? In this economy no way i'm paying those per bottle prices for 87 to 90 point wines. Too many other great wines for less.

If you want to see them all together look at his column over at www.winelovers.com Then check the board over there and find that a lot of them drink the 'spensive stuff. Different strokes, etc.

I don't buy them either, just report on them. I think prices will be coming down soon.

We've had this discussion before and I still think that at least a 20% portion of the overall rating should relate to a discussion of relative value in the marketplace, just like Car or Audio or Mountain Bike reviewers do.

Talking up $40 Chiantis without mentioning the incredible values on similar wine to be found in the Marche and Emilia-Romagna just encourages the already status and money crazed Toscani....

Good seeing you Boto Baby. Had a marvy lunch at Il Forno. Asked them what you normally tip and said I'd do the same. The waiter asked if I'd please move it up to at least 10%.(giggle) WW
