Thanks for the reminder Drew. My four year old and I celebrated today, but most of the people we ran across thought we were crazy. Ahoy there matey as a phone greeting really catches people by surprise...

We decided to watch an old movie tonight and as I tried to locate my copy of Young Frankenstein, I came across a forgotten tape of the old Treasure Island with Wallace Beery and Jackie Cooper. So, of course, in honor of TLAP day (albeit a day late) we watched that. What a trip down nostalgia lane! Now thems were pirates, me mateys, and yes, Long John Silver even said "Shiver me timbers!" But the very best line, in my opinion, was spoken by Lionel Barrymore, playing Billy Bones. In a scene at the Admiral Benbow Inn, he orders rum for all hands and says, "Here's a new port, all full of pretty wenches and strong young BUCKOS!" What fun! They sure don't make 'em like that anymore!

Those are some good jokes. I coppied the one about the 5 pirates, and the one about the kid with the colored hair, for our 23 year old daughter. She was going to her best friends bachlorete party to night.

Absolutely! I sent the steering wheel joke and the hook joke to several people yesterday! I liked those two the best.

Arr!!, I've just sailed home from a canoe trip in the Boundry Waters Canoe area Wilderness where my entire crew were speakin like pirates for a full week.
