Georgie, I just noticed your comment. You are definitely NOT a Brunhilde, grl. Those - um - ladies - were each a good 300 lb on the hoof, with their hair pulled up in tight buns, afflicted with a permanent case of the orneries. Especially when dealing with 8-10 year olds. Scary, very scary. You're not one of those, thank heaven.

Thank you, Hotsie. I'm glad to receive that comment after having gone through a terrible conference with a particularly difficult parent this morning. I am just totally drained. TGIF. Sure would like a glass of wine to go home to. It's my sweetie-pie's birthday, however, so I'm looking forward to taking him out for a steak dinner. We're in for a big snowstorm tomorrow...maybe I'll get a long weekend out of it. I deserve a snow day after this morning!

We had a nun in 5th grade that lined us all up on the first day and gave us each a whack with her pointer, saying "That's what will happen if you misbehave in this class." She was lying. The next day she called up misbehaving Joe F. and cold cocked him. Last I heard, Joe has been in and out of the slammer several times.
