Rose Bowl! OU vs. WSU. Okrahoma roots and living in WA. Makes it tough to root for one. I guess that I win no matter who loses.

Sounds like a win-win to me, Buckster. Only add wine.

Being a devoted Husky fan and season ticket holder, it's tough to see the Cougs in the Rose Bowl, but.....I'd still rather see a home state team win. It's very odd not having the Rose bowl be a Pac 10 Big 10 affair.

Boomer-Sooner-Or-Later. The best thing about O.U. is that it's not Nebraska.

What the heck, go Big 12!!

Jes' a small aside fer the newbies on the board. Born (No Bucko not Hatched ), Raised(?), 2 years at O.U and granulated from Missouri so my midwestern roots are deep. Was at O.U during the madcap Tatum coaching days in 46-47. So, bekieve me, I really have boomed some sooner in my time. Great they are getting to maul the Apple-Pickers this Jan. WW, here's an MU story.

KU coach Roy Williams dreamt he went to heaven for an interview. God himself took time to show him around the celestial Campus, they took an extensive tour of the auditoreum, and saw the coaching staff offices, the weight rooms, etc...it was going well, and God and Roy really got along. Roy was enjoying himself, joking and talking b-ball, and soon God showed him a large mansion all decked out in red and blue, with the front porch pillars carved with Jayhawk motifs. God said 'This will be your new home'. As they were walking back to the Celestial Student Union to scope out some cute co-ed angels in short heavenly robes, Roy noticed a HUGE mansion on a nearby hill. It was decorated in gold and black, with tiger paws carved all around every window, and a wrought iron fence that had hundreds of MU flag flying along the perimeter of the garden. Roy was a little taken aback, and asked God "Is that Quin Synder's house? It's so much bigger than mine." God replied "Oh no, We're building Quin a really NICE home on the far side of campus. That's just my place".

I was surprised to learn that Nebraska (my B.A. degree is from there) was even invited to a bowl game this year. But my cousin, who attended Ole Miss and graduated from University of Colorado is going to the Independence Bowl between Ole Miss and Nebraska. Her father, and my Dad, his twin, were both Nebraska graduates but I suspect she will root for Ole Miss. I did my Master's at University of Michigan and one year Nebraska played Michigan in the Orange Bowl so I was a winner either way (the Wolverines defeated the Cornhuskers).

I understand that a guy from Ole Miss tried to blow up the Nebraska team bus but burned his lips on the tailpipe.

Forget about Ole Miss -- worry about kicking Paterno's arse.
