Just received and opened some new CDs and as usual put them on without checking what was playing.20 seconds into the 3rd one my ears sat straight up. Opened the sucker and found the following title " O Universo Musicale de Baden Powell." He was on another "Brazilliance" album for one tune so when this showed up,Bingo. This cat could play his bejongers off. Reading up on him found out he named for the founder of the Boy Scouts, Baden Powell. What a talent. WW

Verne, I have fifteen of his records, two biographies (in portugues), a DVD of a live show (that I might loan you if you ask nice) and an autographed program from a show in Rio.

Baden was AMAZING and even more so when you understand that A) he improvised almost everything (including whole studio albums recorded in one take) and B) he drank about two liters of Scotch whisky a day!

Glad you found him, he died just last year and it was a great loss.
