Alrighty- are these 2 worth the ink the label is printed on? I'm definitely more interested in drinkability- or to the garbage heep.

1985 Chateau de Villelongue 100% Chard Brut, Methode Champenoise, appellation Blanquette de Limoux
(I think we got this from TB's aunt and uncle last moving day)

(no vintage on label) Kuffenberg Gold Dry Sec Troken .. this one was given to us on the plane- (got bumped to 1st class) on our honeymoon

Thanks all- tomorrow(or today for the east coasters) is the big move. Yikes!

Oh, CAgirl, you know what they're all gonna say! Just open them and try them - that's the only way you're gonna know if they're still good!

Of course, our magnificent moderators have some great insight and memories, so maybe they'll have better advice, but I am just having a premonition ;-) and I'm wondering if it's gonna come right!

Good luck moving. It's one of those things in life that I absolutely don't enjoy doing - yuck!

Yes- I knew that part. Just curious to see if anyone heard of these before. I think maybe wow might be experienced with the German one.

If the Blanchette de Limoux is still bubbling you may find it quite interesting. In that region they claim they had been producing sparkling wine before Champagne got into the act, and the ones I have tasted have been quite pleasing--and inexpensive. Have no idea of their age worthiness.

Sorry, I don't really have much knowledge of German Sekts (sparkling wines). Enjoyed some on New Year's Eve with orange juice (Orangen und Sekt)but that's about it. It may still be enjoyable.
