Just back from the CA State Fair wine judging. Best of Show came down to a Sauvignon Blanc, a LH Petite Sirah, a Cab Sauv, a Meritage, a Pinot Noir and a Zin. The Meritage won. Don't know any results yet but I sure did like that Sauvignon Blanc.

Just received the results of the Orange County Fair " Best of Show ". The 4 winners were The 2000 Foley Estates " Barrel Select " Santa Barbara Chard, The Mumm Cuvee Napa 1997 Blanc de Blancs Bubbly, The Jankris 2000 " Sojurn " Paso Syrah and the Jekel 2000 Late Harvest Monterey Reisling. Have ordered a bottle of each (Yes You Heck-Lights, even the SWs' ) and will report later. WW
