Wine more popular than beer

Has anybody else seen the gallop poll results stating that wine is officially more popular than beer?

I believe the poll showed that wine consumption increased somewhat while beer consumption dropped a tad. Not quite the same as wine being more popular than beer, but encouraging nonetheless.

After going over some figures, looks like retail wine sales in the U.S. have increased 57% since 1995. Don't know what that means relative to beer, but the signs are clear where wine has been heading.

Oh, before KC gets me--that's cases moved, not dollars collected.

Seems a little skewed to me as well, particularly considering beer consumption in Asia, and the US. I love them both, just am picky with them both (particularly with Beer, whose top producers in terms of quantity are far worse, comparatively speaking, than high quantity producers of wine).
