I was looking for some prices on the following bottles of wine, and whether or not they are still drinkable.

My father has had this wine since I was born, and has been saving it for my wedding day, we are not wine experts by far and would like to find out all we can on this wine. Thanks again.

Crystal, Welcome to the board. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but all of the wines your father saved are LONG-Gone. These were wines meant to be drunk on release and were inexpensive at the time. It seems like there`s an illusion among non-wine savvy people that wines are born equal and all of them age gracefully. `Taint so. That`s why there are 5-buck wines and 500 dollar wines.winoweenie

Foodie, That`s precisely the reason I reply to all the nonsensical questions on the novice Board. Some-one has to let people understand just because Dad bought some wine and stuck it in the basement and it`s 30 years old it`s worth big bucks. Crystal, your Dad had great intentions, just not great wines. [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/frown.gif[/img] Why not start anew. Find a local wine shop that can offer some ideas on a few bottles that will age with grace. Your father (and you) can add to them, on birthdays, Christmas, your wedding, new house, birth of a child, etc. Start opening them years from now, for whatever special reason you choose, (& include the 5, 10, 15 etc year anniversary of your first visit to the wine shop).
