My husband recently found a case of wines in his late grandfathers garage. We know nothing about wines so I would appreciate it if some one could give me any information on them. The first bottle says Anno 1976, Barbaresco, Italian red table wine. And the other says Nicolas, Depuis 1822 produce of france, Canteval, Vin De Table Rouge. I dont know the year they were bottled. I am assuming sometime in the seventy's, since nothing has been touched in there since 1979. I would really appreciate any information on these.

Stored in the garage? Sorry, but I'd guess you have a few dozen bottles of vinegar (and not very good vinegar at that).

DeeDee , welcome to the board. You don`t give us much to go on. If the Barbaresca id indicative of the case I have to agree, you`ve a lot of wine WAY beyond it`s time. winoweenie. ( Original quote )

We opened a bottle of the barbaresco tonight and its excellent. We have three more of the same. I just need more information on them. Or a website that I can search for info on these bottles. Thank you

If the barbaresco was excellent, as you say, then you really found a treasure, since it probably should have never lasted being stored in a garage. If you could give us a bit more info from the label, we'd be glad to try to find some data for you.
