I have 4 different sized wine glasses. I get that the really small one is for sherry and that the tall, skinny one is for champagne. It is the two middle ones that have me stumped. Is the slightly larger one for red or white with the slightly smaller one being for the opposite color? Thanks! Dana

You have guessed correctly; the larger of the two is for red, and the smaller for white.

Sitting under my Christmas tree (and soon under someone elses) are some of those fine glasses from............

Germany.

Speigelau Echtkristal. Nice stuff. A while ago Bucko was talking about buying tasting glasses at about $5.00 a stem. The Speigelau Vino Grande Tasting Glass goes for just about that when you buy at least 12 at a time....... (How do I know....?? Guess what is under the tree!!)

I also got some of their 34 oz glasses for the really big reds, also for a fairly decent price.

Nice crystal. Snap it with your finger, it rings quite nicely. Rub it gently with a clean, damp finger and you can make music.

Shaped well, the bowls certainly do seem to contribute, as they establish a direct path from the contents to the nose, to the enjoyment of drinking wine.
