Hi Jimmy, and welcome to the Wine Board. In order to know what to collect, you need to know what you like. In order to know what you like, you need to taste different kinds of wine. You don't say where in New York State you live, but wherever you live, there are liquor stores. Those that specialize in wine, usually hold at least monthly wine tastings that are usually free. Courtesy requires you to at least bring a bottle or two home with you.

If you live in New York City you have many more opportunities to find wine tastings than in smaller communittees. One such place is called Is-Wine. They are located at 225 East 5th Street, tel: 212-254-7800. They have tastings every Saturday.
