How long can red's, white's and rose's be kept unopened in a rack before they should consumed? I'm new to this, so any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Hi Tippy and welcome to the wine board. That is a difficult question to answer because there is no exact answer. Different reds (for example) wines will last longer than others. Many wines are meant to be drank within the first couple years of purchase. In fact they are ready to be drank when you buy them without aging. The ability for them to sit in your rack also depends on storage conditions. A cool dark place is important. Warm temperatures can significantly reduce their life.

Hello Tippy!

If you can tell us, if you have specific wines in question, what they are we can help you.

As it was said, some wines are made to be consummed immediately, while others have ageing potential.

This is a forum for learning and we, in essence, are teachers. Whatever questions you have you will get an answer. Eventually you will be doing the same for others.

It's a generous community here.
