Success! The wine in question is properly named: "VENETO i.g.t. Bottero" an Italian Red & supplied by Casa Vinicola Botter Carlo. It is available through the Quebec Liquor Commission (www.SAQ.com). I'll try it next week when a friend takes a bottle to Halifax.
If price is any indicator, it is inexpensive.
