1996 Veeder Reserve and Georges Latour?

What's the word on California's 1996 vintage? I am trying to select what is, for me, a couple of premium wines. My options include the 96 Mt. Veeder Reserve Red ($62) and the 96 Beaulieu Georges Latour ($70).

I've already gotten a 94 Mondavi Reserve Cab.
