Hi,
I really don't know anything about wine but I would like to give a gift of a selection of wines from around the world. The problem is that I live in South Korea and there really isn't anywhere that I can go to ask. So PLEASE HELP ME! I am able to buy a nice selection of wine here but I can find no one to tell me about it or to help me communicate. I would like to stay in the $10-$25 US a bottle range and I would like to have 12 different bottles from 12 different countries. Ideally I would like 6 red and 6 white but I am open to suggestions.

Thanks for any help that you can offer me,
Sulgi

Hi Sulgi, and welcome to the Wine Board. If you have no place to ask, hopefully you'll have a place to buy. So here you go:

Germany: Riesling (W)
Austria: Gruner Veltliner (W)
France: Macon Villages (W)
Italy: Pinot Grigio (W)
Spain: Rioja (R)
Portugal: Dao Riserva (R)
U.S.A.: Zinfandel (R)
Chile: Cabernet-Merlot (R)
Argentina: Malbec (R)
Australia: Shiraz (R)
New Zealand: Sauvignon Blanc (W)
South Africa: Steen (Chenin Blanc [W])

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I should be able to find most of them. It will probably require a quick trip to Seoul, but then I always love doing that. I will keep you posted as to what I have been able to get. If I have trouble getting something, would it be okay for me to contact you about a substitute?

Thanks again,
Sulgi

Sulgi - I don't know if you can buy Canadian wines in South Korea (probably not), but if you can, have a look at the list of wines from British Columbia that I posted in the thread entitled "Canadian wines" here in the novice section of the board.
