I know very little about wine but would like to collect some burgundies to give to my son when he eventually gets married. He took a wines course in college and is working at becoming more knowledgable. Can anyone suggest some good investment burgandies and the best way to store it as cheaply as possible? Thanks!!!

1999 burgundies are currently available and it is recognized as a very good vintage. What age is your son? I ordered two bottles of the same 1999 premier cru Chambolle-Musigny to give my nephew and his bride--they are to be married in September of this year. I am going to suggest that they have one bottle on their honeymoon or shortly after when they settle into married life in San Diego, and save the other bottle for their fifth anniversary (or around that time if they celebrate with champagne on the anniversary). The 1999s should certainly age for 5-10 years if carefully stored. Look under the thread (near the bottom) on wine storage. Costco and the like have inexpensive wine storage units.
