Looking for a nice mellow red wine without any of the bitter-dry or alcohol after taste. I've tried so many I don't know what to try next. I don't want a dessert wine, just a nice red wine you would order in the local pizza shop.

Hi Maa, and welcome to the Wine Board. Try Lambrusco.

Have you tried sparkling wines? I wouldn't call them mellow, but they don't seem to have that "aftertaste" of alcohol that I don't like.
One that we are drinking now is Ballatore Rosso, Red Spumante, doesn't have a year on it.
Anyhow, I am finding sparkling wines to be enjoyable to drink, a good stepping stone to "stronger" tasting wines.

Janette
