Red wine

My doctor has suggested one or two glasses of red wine daily. Any suggestions? I do not like semi-dry or dry wines, generally I prefer sweeter or even fruity tasting wines.
Normally I stick to white zinfindel and white merlot. My wife kids me saying I'm a MD20/20(church wine) or Welch's Grape Juice guy. What is a shiraz? Tried a beaujolais and thought it not so great. Any suggestions besides go back to scotch?
