Hi!!
anyone who knows anything is welcome to inform this girl--who knows very little about wine---
Approximately how much would a 1983 bottle of Chateau Lafite Rothschild "Pauillac" red table wine be worth now?

Welcome to the board. Wine-searcher.com indicates it could be worth as much as $275, but that's assuming the wine has had proper storage since release. If you can't prove that it has had such storage, in terms of temperature, humidity, vibration and light, then it has very little re-sale value. Pull that cork and enjoy with BEEF.

Hi Jessalf and welcome to the board. Think Hotsie mite be a tad high on the 83. It's more in the 225 range. The 81 is selling for around 165 to 175. Unless you have quantities of these babies, Hotsie-poo gave you the rite ticket ....pop them suckers open and enjoy. WW

You don't need us to find the answers for you, you can look them up yourself at wine_searcher.com. But keep in mind that what you would be looking at is the price at which a reputable retailer is offering the wine; and by "reputable", I mean one who will stake his reputation on a wine's provenance (its history since release). It's doubtful that you will find any member of this board who's willing to offer that kind of money for a single bottle that's been kept in someone's closet for the last dozen years. Personally, I wouldn't touch it; that's why I said pull the cork.
