hi,
just found this old bottle at my grandmothers house. she seems to think it dates from the early 60's but not sure.
labeled "imperial pradel - cotes de provence". no date that i can see just some cryptic #s.
06 - 04 on label stuck on top.
on small label on back
"il a ete tire cle cette cuvee 24 531 bouteilles. cette bouteille porte le no 01021."
the second # seems to have been printed on as serial #.
it appears to be a port an the bottle is wrapped in what appears to be fine gold wire.
anyone know what this might be or how to find out more about it.
thanx in advance
S

Hi Seantoad and welcome to the board. Not nearly enuf info for me to eventake an educated guess. Don't think it's a port because I've never seen a port wire wrapped.
I'd guess it's some kind of spanish wine.Sorry WW

Weener,

Me thinks its a french wine from Provence - Cotes de Provence kindy gives it away, along with the french on the label. But other than that, thats all the guessing I got.

Please forgive WW as he gets his French and Spanish mixed up this time of year. A Cotes Du Provence is a light red wine from Provence. In the early sixties, 1960 to be exact I used to pick up a bottle just about every afternoon while attending the College Internatioal De Cannes. Paid $.15 for them or .75 NF. Does that tell you something?
