Can I just check this out with some knowledgeable person? As red wine matures, does it get lighter or darker? I think lighter......

Hi Hilary, and welcome to the Wine Board. White wine turns darker as it ages. Red wine turns brownish and then brown as it ages. Hasten to add that this is not good. One wants to drink one's red wine before any browning occurs.
