i received a gift from a business assoc who says this wine is excellent & expensive. i normally am familiar with american reds....this is a Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, 1997, Proprietaire au Chateau de Chambolle Musigny (cote d'Or). I know nothing about french wines...

what kind if wine is this? can you help me? thanks in advance.

Its a poor bottle of low quality plonk. I'll send you postage and handling so you can ship it to me so you don't have to suffer through it.

Actually, its Grand Cru Burgundy which means pinot noir from a vineyard that has achieved the top classification in the french system.

You can find info on the area at this site. I am not familiar with the bottle, but you probably have a very expensive, wonderful bottle of wine. Make a super special dinner and pop that sucker.
