I have several bottles of Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon 1981 and Bertani Amarone 1977. What is the value?

'81 was a pretty rough vintage in California, so I'd be a little nervous about the Montelena. I haven't had that specific wine; but I bet our Phoenix friend has ... I imagine he'll be here shortly ...

The 81 was mediocre at best 3 years ago.

Hi Ed and welcome to the board. Bucko is rite on about the 81 Montelena. Is probably still drinkable with good storage, but way past its' peak. WW
