Planning a very important dinner party for 12. High end entree selections will be between Filet Mignon, Rack, or Veal.
I've shortlisted to the following 4 Cabs:
BERINGER "Knights Valley" 1996
ROBERT MONDAVI 1997
HESS COLLECTION 1996
CHATEAU MONTELENA 1997
Anyone have any good comparisons to make or significant directions?
I'm new so any recommendations would be more than welcome
THX
STEVE J

Steve, welcome to the board. You have a very impressive list to choose from. My overwhelming favorite from the wines listed is the Chateau Montelena( I take it`s the Calistoga Cuvee ). The 96 Hess is also a marvelous wine but IMHO needs another 2 years. The Beringer Knights and Mondavi Napa are all solid, but the baton must be passed to The Mont. ( Took 4 bottles to Vail. Didn`t last 4 days.) winoweenie
