I have come across a bottle of "Vina Sol" white dry wine bottled 1980. I am interested in finding out more about the winery or perhaps the wine itself.
It is imported by the Carolina Wine Company,Cambridge Ma
Produced and bottled by MiguelTorres-Vilafranca del Penedes-Product of Spain.
Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you Elaine

Viña SOL is just a simple white wine from torres (in spain it cost less than 4 US$). I really doubt that a 1980 bottle is still drinkable.
Yet, if you like viña sol, you are going to be surprised to drink the FRANSOLA from Torres (a sauvignon blanc). Top of the range.
If you prefer a chardonnay try MILAMDA also from TORRES (although the price is as high as a french chablis..)

You can find more information on www.torres.es

By the way, Vilafranca del Penedes is just 40km south of Barcelona. Great Place! That's my home region.
