Andre 1988?

I was recently given a bottle of champange from my girlfriend's grandparents. It had been sitting in a refrigerator in their basement for years and years and I figured it was worth a shot since they didn't want it. It's called Andre, and the only date I can find on the whole bottle is 1988. According to my girlfriend's family, there's a good chance that the champange has been sitting there since 1988. So with that said, I'm really interested in finding out more information from some wine experts. Does anyone know anything about this?

Andre is not Champagne, it's sparkling wine. It's probably drinkable for about 6 months after they bottle it (maybe). So, 1988 is ..........
