I would like to start some sort of record of the wines I have enjoyed including saving the label. Is there a recommended way to remove the label off the bottle.

It is almost impossible to remove most wine labels these days. If you don't have a fancy wine cellar program (I don't) just set up a file on your WP. Works for me.

What I do to save labels is a bath of hot water and Washing Soda. Washing Soda NOT backing soda. It will help loosen the stickum off of most bottles. Plus, the washing soda is perfect for washing your crystal...removes and leaves no residue.

You can also go to websites like www.wineenthusiast.com or possibly to your local wine shop and find label removers. They are these clear adhesive sheets that you rub over the label and use to pull it up. They usually come in packs of 10. It doesn't work on all bottles...but it works on most of them. My husband and I use these and then put the labels in an album. It's fun to look thru the album and remember a special bottle. You can also jot your tasting notes down on the page with the label and it can be pretty helpful.
