Hello from the south where we're all supposed to be moonshining or beer guzzlin' fools. I don't do either - I typically drink mixed drinks but that's hard to do when you're at a private party and there's no bartender... I am looking for a smooth sweet red wine w/o sparkle or fizz. I once bought many wines for my own party, not having a clue as to what I was purchasing (all supermarket brands) and there was one great sweet red wine and the bottle was tossed before I could find out exactly what it was - that was 7 years ago and VERY MANY undrank bottles later I have yet to locate. Can anyone PLEASE HELP!

Welcome to the Wine Board, sassqa. That sweet, red wine you got at the supermarket was probably Riunite Lambrusco. The label is sort of a purple color.

That was my thought too, but Lambrusco usually has some fizz or bubbles. Other than that I really can't help. Possibly a Mogen David wine?

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for your suggestions -I will let you know the outcome!! And as for the purple label, purple is my favorite color so it would only be natural, not knowing wines, that I purchased for the color of the label. Thanks again!! SAS
