My DH and I are driving up to Napa in the end of July. We have booked a day with the wineshuttle, and the other days are going to tour some on our own.

Wineshuttle is partnered with certain wineries, see link provided below and we are able to choose which ones we would like to see. Are there any recommendations on which ones to pick? I'm particularly fond of Cabs (particularly Aussie ones), and would appreciate some help on which wineries we should choose four our taxi/tour. Here's the link.

Many thanks!

Ah…
Mondavi for it’s historical importance and to see “I” Block.
Niebaum Coppola for the museum (Godfather junk included) and the Inglenook house.

I’ve not been to Laird, thinking of stopping by when I’m there in July. Maybe you can check it out and post what you thought about it!
CCK
S. Anderson makes nice wines too...

Beaulieu Vineyards and Merryvale are recommended along with Robert Mondavi. On your own you might visit Beringer (good tour) or Sterling (scenic and unusual). Maybe Geyser Peak for the Australian winemakers there.

Since KC hasn't chimed in, Lewelling has great, underline great, Cabs.
Rutherford Hill Winery has some good reds, great view- tour the caves. Good EVOO.
V. Sattui is a good tourist place for lunch picnic style.. they usually have a BBQ going outside with tri-tip sandwiches; reds are okay; some good desert wines, (try Angelica).
Prager Port works has good stickies- interesting place. Tucked in behind Sutter Home Winery, (on Lewelling Lane). Looks like a shack. Go inside and there's cobwebs everywhere and a cat that's always curled up in the corner. Jim Prager is an interesting man, looks just like Santa Claus.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I appreciate it. Only 61 more days 'til our trip. It can't get here soon enough!

WW - We're staying in Calistoga @ the Brannan Cottage Inn.

Tiny if you take the Silverado trail out of Calistoga there are many great visits. Duckhorn will be the 1st you hit. Then further down the Joseph Phelps lovely property. Not sure if Burgess has opened a tasting room but if he has be sure and stop.As you near the Stags Leap area Shafer vineyards are on your right, then Stags Leap WC on the left, and then Bernie Portets' Clos Du Val. And a wunnerful day of tasting was had by all. WW
