Hello Yoko,

Welcome to the wineboard!

There aren't too many sweet/semi-sweet red wines because they all will finish kind of dry.

Are you going to be drinking it with food or on it's own? Wine will change when you add food into the equation.

My opinion is to buy a Pinot Noir or Beaujolais. These wines will taste like fresh crushed fruit.

Others might have an opinion as well.

You might also want to try a Lambrusco from Italy. Riunite is probably the most popular brand.

Another option is local wineries. Most of the wineries east of the Rocky Mountains, particularly those in the Midwest offer a wide range red and white wines across the sweetness spectrum. There are many operations there in Ohio as well as in surrounding states. Here is a website for wineries, some of which offer sweet reds, in your area: http://www.ohiowines.org/cgi-bin2/winery.pl?xc
