Help! I want to get my boss a nice bottle of red wine as a holiday gift. Nothing too pricy but nice, any suggestions??

Under what price would be "not too pricey"? That's a somewhat subjective threshold. Also, does the boss drink or know anything about wine?

Get him a bottle of Rancho Zabaco Heritage red zinfandel. It's a bit unusual and very delicious.

wd - "Not too pricey", I'm looking at $20 or under. He does drink wine, I think he knows a bit about it or seems to when we go out for team dinners. He has mentioned that he favors reds.

Would help if we knew what area you live in.

Twenty bucks worth of California cabernet sauvignon. Probably the most popular red in the country. Everyone knows it, a lot of people like it. Ask for brand-specific help in your wine store. For that price, there's a lot of choices. It's just pointless for us to suggest specific wines, not knowing what's available to you. As consolation, for $20 you'll get a $20 wine. Cali's are pretty consistant and it should be a decent bottle. Help from a good dealer, though, could get you an underrated wine that tastes more like a $30 offering. Hope you get your bonus <LOL>.
