Been put on the spot here. Friends are entertaining. Need to recommend a bottle for under £30. Any advice gratefully received.

Hi Stix and welcome to the board. Your best bet IMHO is a wine from the recently released 1998 Bordeaux, or one of the many delightful wines from the 1999 vintage from the Rhone area. Your friendly wine merchant should be able to point you in the right direction. WW
