Hi, we are having our firm picnic and having a roasted pig done along w/ burgers and dogs. Any suggestions on what type of wine to serve.
Thank you.

Welcome to the board, Kah. For the burgers & dogs, I'd normally prefer a Rhone-style red, esp. a Syrah. But for the pork, would go with a Pinot Noir, esp. a cheap one from Sam's Club or Costco, something in the $10 range. The Pinot Noir would adequately cover all the bases for that mixture.

Agree with the above. You could also consider a Beaujolais. Served slightly chilled, it's a nice "outdoors in the summer" wine, and it's versatile enough to go with a wide variety of picnic dishes.

Welcome to the board!

A nice $10 Chianti would also go well.
