I have only one bottle.
It is from the Portuguese island, Madeira.
It is dated 1845.
It is called 'Vinho Velho'.
It is sealed and dated with wax.
I am willing to sell the bottle, if I get a decent offer.
Is anyone interested?

Is there any more information? Who's the producer? Is it a reserve? Is it a regular tawny, or a colheita? How, and where, has it been stored since 1845? BTW, vinho velho means old wine, which indicates it's a tawny.

Thank your for your interest!
The bottle is very old, so even on the label there is not much information.

The name on the bottle, which is probably the producer, is "J. BARBOZA DE M. E CAMARA". Above that it has the name, "Vinho Velho", and at the bottom, "MADEIRA". On the back of the bottle, '1845' is written in wax.

I am portuguese originally from the island of Madeira, and the bottle has been with my father for 40 years since the day he left Madeira in 1964. It was given to him by a portuguese bishop. My father has always had a vast collection of bottles, and has always stored his wine on a rack in a dark place.
You are quite right, 'Vinho Velho', does mean 'Old Wine', and I think it is a tawny.
I'm happy to answer any other questions you might have!
