I'm sure this is a re-e-e-eally stupid question, but in many tasting notes on this board (and sometime in TNs elsewhere) two numbers (ratings) are listed. For example: 87/90.

Is there a standard way to interpret this? For example, Bucko's TNs often have this configuration. Is the first rating his and the second rating from Wine Spectator? Robert Parker? Something else?

Thanks for any answers--this has been bugging me for a while, but I've only now thought to ask about it.

Wow, that was quick! Thank you--that helps! (And I'm really enjoying that Hogue Viognier, by the way--I just opened the bottle!)

Terrific! It is a very good value. The McCrea is better, but twice the price.

quijote,

You can check out Bucko's other picks at www.wineloverspage.com. Look at "Bucko's New Wines".

quijote,
I had the same question as you in regards to Bucko's ratings when I first started posting on this board.

I actually wish more people would use the quality/value method of rating wines. It makes perfect sense.

That www.wineloverspage.com is pretty cool, by the way. That Bucko feller describes some mighty tempting wines, and then there's that writer named Roberto....
