to this board, glad to find some good informal discussions about wine.

I'm in Charlotte, NC (south-central NC), not far from the Yadkin Valley AVA where we have a few cool little wineries just getting started.

Anyway, I'm lookin' forward to chatting about some wines.

Hi Faustus, and a warm welcome to the Wine Board. Georgie is right on. We also have a couple of regulars here from NC. Expect to hear from them.

Faustus, did you know there is an Italian wine cooperative with the name Faustus?

Welcome and hello Faustus. You have a found a great place to chat without the attitude of the big boards. Looking forward to hearing your input on future topics.

Welcome from the Sandhills part of the Tar Heel State. I usually get to Charlotte at least 2 or 3 times a year and find some fine dining and good wine venues there. Have you done any tasting at Dean & Deluca in Phillips Place?

Welcome to the Board, Faustus. Join us in discussions of wine and things as the original Faustus must have also done in his time.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. foodie, I didn't know about the Italina wines with this name, I hope they're good since I'll just HAVE to try 'em if I can find 'em...

wow, I have indeed been to the Dean & Deluca wine room several times, my wife works very close to there so it's a great after-work spot for us. I enjoy the flights of several wines, a great way to try new ones.

A quick question-what kind of experience do the folks here have with online wine purchases (wine.com, etc.)? Looks like several sites will ship to NC so I'm wondering if this is a good source.

Thanks for any impressions, experiences, etc.

Bought a lot of wine from the old wine.com, but none so far from the new one. Here are some on-line retailers (some with brick and morter too) that we deal with with pleasure:
